Zac Efron for Hugo Iced Interview + Giveaway

To celebrate the launch of Hugo Boss’s new fragrance Hugo Iced, we were given the amazing opportunity to interview its ambassador Zac Efron via Google Hangout! This marks Efron’s fragrance campaign debut, and Efron represents the fashion house’s perception of the young, opportunistic millennial generation. The cologne, which carries with it a “Your Time is Now” slogan, is dynamic, fresh and daring – encapsulating everything a “You-Only-Live-Once”-believing millennial would champion.

Read on for our interview with Zac Efron, and read on to the end to find out how you can win yourself a set of Hugo Iced fragrance!

Andrea: How do you feel about your first campaign with Hugo Boss?

Zac: So far, the experience has been pretty amazing. We have a lot fun, travelling a lot and we’re promoting a great message along with the fragrance. So, it’s really exciting. Hugo is just kind of the best so it’s an honor for me to work with them.

Andrea: What was the main motivation behind this collaboration?

Zac: I think “Your Time Is Now” applied [to me]. I was finally ready to take the step [fronting a fashion campaign] and I also was very into the message it wanted to spread with this fragrance. I feel that being in the public eye as I am as an actor; it’s a great way to utilise social media, so I’m still learning how to get a great message out to our generation to take that first step and remember that your time is now.

Andrea: Are there any similar characteristics between you and the Hugo Man?

Zac: I hope so. I think that the Hugo Man is adventurous and fun-loving. I think he’s somebody who’s not afraid to try new things and have fun in life, and still smell good at the same time.

Andrea: You are the millennial icon and have interacted with many people from our generation. What do you feel are the qualities millennials need to have in order to succeed in life?

Zac: I don’t know if I have the answer to that because I’m a millennial. I think [it’s] just believing in yourself  I think there’s a lot of things that we can collectively do as a group, [when we] band together and unify. We also have to take charge of our lives and remember that you only have one life to live. I mean this is your time, this is it . Don’t wait and don’t procrastinate. Your time is now. Shoot for the moon. Reach for your dreams. Follow your dreams. [Most importantly], have fun.

Andrea: Who would would consider a millennial icon or trailblazer of our time?

Zac: Chance The Rapper is a really good example of somebody who’s done a lot with a little. I mean, he’s won like 7 Grammys with his new label. He’s kind of a prodigy. I like his message [in his songs].

Andrea: We just have one last request. Do you have anything to say to your Singaporean fans?

Zac: To my fans in Singapore, I can’t wait to visit and see you. Peace, love and I’ll see you soon. And your time is now.

Being a millennial is about learning how to be a better adult and person everyday, to learn to care and love,to dance and sing, and to enjoy being adventurous to try something new and fun.

Being one of the millennials left me an impression that We are too busy with our phone, there is one day when my phone battery died, and I look around, everyone is staring at their gadgets the whole time, that made me realise that eventhough we spent a lot of time on our phone, we rarely contact our parents for different reasons especially for children that are studying overseas like me. But I also realise that people in this generation are hard to open to people especially to their parents. But I do hope that I can open up with… Read more »

Being a millennial to me is to be fearless, having infinite opportunities available for us and to chase our dreams boldly. It’s also about failing and being able to pick ourselves back up again, because this is the best time to try and learn new things which is readily available online or in such a globalised society 🙂

To me, the term “Millennials” have a lot of meaning- especially when I myself belongs to this group. Millennials have a high level of confidence and ego when it comes to work/studies and are highly optimistic & passionate about what we want to achieve in few years time, from wherever we are at now. We have an important role to play in today’s society, and are raised up in a way that we are able to give back to the community anytime, anywhere, as long we we set our hearts and mind to it. Hope to win this fragrance for… Read more »

Being a millennial is all about breaking through conventions, working hard, staying true and being relentless in chasing one’s dream. With all that said, who doesn’t need a scent in the midst of getting those things done? I’m pretty sure Hugo Iced is THE scent to that!

I certainly don’t think I am a millennial. But I work hard play hard and just give all of my best into everything that I do. I certainly hope that with all my efforts I can achieve so much more. More than that I just wish to be kind to people and make sure that at least in my life I am a millennial to the people around me. Of course if one aspires to be a millennial, one should smell like one. Hope to win because mad respect for zac!

A millennial to me is being a person who is eager and thirsty for his goals and dreams; anticipating what’s in store for him in the future. It is about being able to know what you want to achieve and striving hard for the things you stand for and believe in. Taking the first step to explore and realise your potential and to work on it until you reach triumph.

Age 20. Being a millennial is to overcome the fears of uncertainity in this 21st century. As I stepped into my tertiary education, it was my first time fearing the future. When I’m younger, I would just follow the typical pathway of progressing from primary to secondary then to jc. However when I’m in tietary education, I felt like I have been stranded. I don’t have a ‘typical path’ anymore. I often doubt if I have chosen the right choice which land me where I am today. Have I actually made the right choice of major? What can I do… Read more »

Instead of living for an instagrammable moment, start being present in the moment and put our phones away.
That is what a millennial should be.

Being a millennial to me means taking full responsibilities of my own life. Its time I take charge of what i want or need. And no mater how hard the journey has been whether I succeed or fail in the end, am mature enough to face it accordingly. For me it screams Independence!

To me, I think us millennials put in effort and hardwork to achieve what we want. Some might call us the “strawberry generation”, but I beg to differ. We accept criticisms to improve ourselves and try again if we fail. We were pushed by our parents’ generations and were taught that education is the most important factor in making a (positive) difference. I think millennials have the power to change the world into a better place (even the slightest) if We’re All In This Together! 😉

Being a millenial to me is all about staying true to oneself. We all get caught up trying to lead perfect lives we fail to realise that being your true self is enough.

Being a millennial means I am blessed to have education and opportunities. Being tech savvy and learning how to tap into resources is a natural reflex! Being hopeful for the future is a great faith to live by despite the label of lost millenials drowning in a sea of social media lol!

Millennial—hmm, to be honest I don’t know or I am not that familar with the word, but I think that’s the time (or rather every time) where we should open our eyes lay down our phones and think/enjoy life because you don’t know what’s going to happen. That ‘phone’ is just going to sit there so don’t worry about it, what important is your life (and of course Jesus). You should accept everything you are/have😊. Enjoy it, eveything is temporary, just be strong, confident, think positive and believe in Jesus. That’s all (sorry, my first language isn’t english😅)

Being a millennial means having the courage and drive to explore, no matter how adventurous or challenging it is. Being and millennial means to be humble and be opened to all aspects of views and learn from within.

I hope to win this to congratulate my brother from graduating from his university! 🙂

A millennial to me means being hyper-connected, with a gift of utilising the omnipotence of social media. We are critical with online information and not only see things at face value. A millennial in this day and age is a pioneer of a paradigm shift in our society’s conservatism while reinventing social norms. We are avant-garde artists who sculpt and shape the world of today into a creative masterpiece representing who we are.

Being a millennial means having hope and perservering. While we are blessed with being bombarded with messages of endless possibilities in life, being unique in our ways and “it gets better” in all aspects of life, we also grow up in a world of much scrutiny, endless competetition and needing to give even more to prove our worth and outshine the others. If there is one thing that being a millennial teaches us, it is to be relentless in what we believe in 🙂
